CISHA Policies

Cookie & Tracking Notice

Understand how CISHA uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our digital platforms.

Last updated: March 6, 2026Science of Self-Knowledge (CISHA)

Cookies help us deliver a fast, reliable experience and learn which resources serve the community best. This notice explains the categories of cookies we set, the third-party tools involved, and how you can control them.

Types of Cookies We Use

Essential operations

Session cookies keep forms secure, preserve language preferences, and ensure the donation widget loads correctly. They are required for the site to function and expire automatically after the session.

Performance analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (currently Plausible or Vercel Analytics) to count visits, approximate geographies, and device types. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.

Experience enhancements

Optional cookies remember volunteer form progress, recently viewed events, or media playback positions. These conveniences are disabled if your browser blocks cookies.

Third-Party Tools

  • PayPal and other payment processors may set their own cookies when you open embedded checkout flows.
  • YouTube, Vimeo, or podcast embeds only load when you click play; at that moment the provider’s cookies may activate according to their policies.
  • We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels.

Your Controls

Browser settings

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, send a “Do Not Track” signal, or limit third-party storage. Essential functionality may be reduced if you block all cookies.

Analytics opt-out

Because we use cookieless analytics by default, no action is required. If you install a content blocker, it will prevent any optional tracking pixels from loading.
